The President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja, Rotarian Olanrewaju Lawal, has commended teachers and parents across Nigeria for their unwavering dedication to shaping the nation’s future leaders.

“I commend the commitment of teachers, principals, and parents who continue to mould future leaders. We are proud to partner with you,” she stated during the presentation of Rotary Club-funded textbooks to the management of Premier Grammar School, Abeokuta—a government-designated flagship school in Ogun State—and other beneficiary institutions.

She noted that September marks Rotary International’s Basic Education and Literacy Month, and the book donation forms part of activities commemorating the occasion. The initiative aims to strengthen community capacity to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparities in education, and promote adult literacy.

Rotarian Lawal further remarked, “We are proud to celebrate a significant milestone in our commitment to empowering young minds. On behalf of the Rotary Clubs of Ikeja and Oke Ona Egba, I am honoured to present these books to the school libraries represented here today.”

She expressed hope that the donated books would inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders. “Our donation embodies Rotary’s belief in the transformative power of education,” she said. “Let us foster a love for reading and learning, paving the way for brighter futures. Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and supporters—together, we are making a difference.”
