Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully repelled a retaliatory attack by terrorists on Bilbis town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State in the early hours of Sunday.

Intelligence sources informed AIT that the attack was a response to the recent death of a notorious terrorist leader, Kachalla Jafaru, who was killed during a military operation in Bilbis.

Jafaru was infamous for orchestrating kidnappings for ransom and terrorizing communities, including Hayin Gada and Kunchin Kalgo. He was also the brother of Ado Aliero, a notorious bandit leader on the Nigerian military’s most-wanted list.

Following Jafaru’s death, terrorists in the area reportedly mobilized for a retaliatory attack on Bilbis. Security operatives, alerted to the threat, launched a counter-operation at about 11:30 a.m., engaging the attackers in a fierce gun battle that lasted until 4:00 p.m.

The joint military and CJTF forces successfully repelled the assault, killing several terrorists and inflicting severe injuries on others. They also recovered weapons and numerous motorcycles used by the attackers.
