Another deadly communal clash hits Jigawa, many left dead

Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed to DAILY POST another deadly communal clash that has left many dead.

The latest incident occurred on Thursday night in the Gidan Nagari community of Jahun Local Government Area, just a week after a similar clash occurred in Gululu village between Fulani herders and Hausa residents.

Eyewitnesses described the situation as chaotic, with houses set on fire and residents fleeing for their lives.

The PPRO, Jigawa State, SP Adam Shiisu Lawan confirmed the incidence, adding that investigation is ongoing.

He did not provide details on the number of casualties so far.

The previous clash which happened on January 3 claimed nine lives and left four others injured.

The state government has yet to release an official statement addressing the recurring violence.
