Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has moved quickly in the January transfer window to bolster his squad.

The Premier League champions are on the verge of sealing a deal for young defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

This was revealed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Friday via X.

According to Romano, City’s agreement with RC Lens is in its final stages, with personal terms already agreed upon.

“Pep Guardiola also gave his own green light.

“As exclusively revealed 10 days ago, he’s the main target, and the agreement with RC Lens is at final stages now. Khusanov agreed personal terms as he wants the move,” Romano tweeted.

The Uzbekistan international is seen as a promising talent, with Guardiola keen on bolstering City’s defence with young prospects.

Omar Marmoush has already agreed in principle a move to Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt, pending an agreement between the clubs.

The Bundesliga club are demanding around £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old Egyptian and negotiations are expected to start this week.

An opening bid could come as early as this weekend.
