Jigawa civil servants to receive N70,000 minimum wage from December

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has approved the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants in the state from December 2024.

The governor’s SA on New Media Muhammad Garba, announced this in a post on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday.

“Governor Umar Namadi has approved the implementation of new minimum wage to take effect from December 1st, 2024,” the post read.

DAILY POST reports that Namadi had earlier approved the N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants.

The state NLC had threatened to embark on strike if the state government fails to announce the month for the implementation of the new minimum wage.

It will be recalled that the Jigawa State governor had suspended his Special Adviser on Salary and Pension, Bashir Ado, for making a hasty, unauthorized announcement on the minimum wage.
