U.S. issues voting guide for citizens in Nigeria ahead of 2024 elections

The United States Mission in Nigeria has issued a crucial guide for American citizens living in the country, detailing the steps needed to vote in the upcoming elections on November 5, 2024.
In a statement released via its official social media account, the mission emphasized the importance of participating in the electoral process and outlined three key steps for voters:
Request a Ballot: U.S. citizens must first visit FVAP.gov to request their ballots.
Complete the Ballot: After receiving their ballots, voters should fill them out according to the provided instructions.
Return the Ballot: Completed ballots can be dropped off at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the Consulate General in Lagos in a postage-paid envelope, or mailed directly by the voter.
The mission urged citizens to complete these steps promptly to avoid any potential delays that could impact their ability to vote.
The 2024 general elections will feature a presidential race between former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as congressional and various state and local contests. Early voting has already begun in several states, including Virginia, Minnesota, and South Dakota.
