Tinubu congratulates APC on Edo governorship victory

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, on his victory in the Edo State governorship election. 

Declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okpebholo triumphed in a closely contested race.

In a statement from his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the efforts of APC leaders and urged Okpebholo to embrace his role with humility. 

He called for unity in Edo State and emphasized the need for Okpebholo to engage with political rivals for collective progress.

Tinubu also highlighted the election’s peaceful nature as a positive indicator of Nigeria’s democratic maturity, celebrating the orderly conduct of voters and commending INEC and security agencies for their roles. 

He encouraged those dissatisfied with the results to seek legal redress, reinforcing the importance of upholding democratic principles.
