Security personnel established roadblocks across Benin early Saturday morning, ahead of the Edo governorship election set to start at 8:00 a.m.

Authorities began stopping and searching vehicles to ensure safety and order during the polls.

Military presence was notable, particularly at the Sapele Road junctions, with an armoured tank stationed in the city center.

Additional security was deployed at key locations, including the INEC office and Agbado Market area.
